Best things to do in Gibraltar over 3 days
By Ethan Roworth·Last checked 2 June 2026
Three days is enough for Gibraltar plus a day trip. Day one is the Rock and the city. Day two is across the border (Tarifa, Tangier, or Ronda). Day three is your slow day. Here is what each looks like.
Upper Rock Nature Reserve
Gibraltar's flagship attraction. One £19 ticket covers St Michael's Cave, the Apes' Den, the Skywalk, the Great Siege Tunnels, the Moorish Castle, O'Hara's Battery, and the Mediterranean Steps trail.
Why we picked it: Day one anchor. Half-day attraction.
Tarifa
Europe's southernmost town, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and Africa is just 14km away.
Why we picked it: Day two option. 40 minutes by car, whales and an old town.
Mediterranean Steps
A demanding cliff-path hike along the eastern face of the Rock, with near-vertical drops to the Mediterranean and views across to Morocco on a clear day.
Why we picked it: Day three slow walk. The hike that the taxi tours miss.

Where should I stay for 3 days in Gibraltar? ▼
Marina Bay or Ocean Village if you want walkability. Catalan Bay if you want quieter and beach-side.

I live in Gibraltar. Every pick on this page has been checked against the operator's own website. I am not paid to rank operators in any particular order. Some links on this site are affiliate links, but the rankings are based on what I would actually recommend. Read more about how we research.
