Gorham's Cave Complex Boat Trip
Sunday morning boat trip from Marina Bay past the UNESCO-listed Gorham's Cave, see the eastern face of the Rock from the sea, weather permitting.
About this tour

On Sunday mornings, Dolphin Adventure runs a specialist boat trip from Marina Bay that takes you around the eastern face of the Rock to view the Gorham's Cave Complex from the sea. The caves, where Neanderthals lived until approximately 30,000 years ago, are cut into the sheer limestone cliff face and are most dramatic when approached by water. You see the cave entrances at sea level, the overhanging cliff above, and the wider eastern coastline of the Rock that is invisible from the tourist circuit on the western side.

The trip runs weather-dependent on Sunday mornings, operated by Dolphin Adventure. Booking is handled directly through Dolphin Adventure at +350 200 50650 or info@dolphin.gi rather than through the Gorham's Cave Complex itself. As with all eastern Rock access, the trip is subject to weather cancellation. The Atlantic swell and Levante (east wind) can make the eastern coast rough even on days when the town side is calm.

The boat trip can be combined with a visit to the Gorham's Cave Viewing Platform (open Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 14:00) if you are visiting mid-week, or with a guided cave tour if you have managed to secure one of the limited summer slots (email neanderthals@gibmuseum.gi well in advance).

Price on enquiry from Dolphin Adventure. This is a niche trip that most visitors to Gibraltar never do. Most people never see the eastern face from the water at all.
