About this tour

The Skywalk is a glass-floored viewing platform on the Upper Rock, situated 340 metres above the Strait of Gibraltar. On a clear day you can see Morocco, the Spanish coastline stretching east toward Málaga, the Atlantic opening to the west, and the narrow neck of the Strait where the two seas meet. On the ground glass beneath your feet, you can see the cliff dropping away below, the kind of view that makes most people freeze for a second before they trust their legs.

The Skywalk is included in most Rock tour packages (the Bus Rock Tour, the Mini Bus Rock Tour, Gibraltar Private Taxi Tours, and the Gibraltar Pass all include it). It can also be reached independently via the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, though you will need the Nature Reserve entry ticket (£13 adult) to access it.

The structure is purpose-built and sturdy, this is not a cable bridge or a temporary installation. It is a fixed platform with full safety railings and glass panels that have been certified for visitor load. That said, if you are seriously afraid of heights, the adjacent viewpoints without glass floors give the same panorama without the vertigo element.

Weather note: on Levante days (east wind), visibility can drop significantly. Check the forecast before planning your Upper Rock visit if panoramic views are the main draw. The Rock creates its own weather systems and the famous cloud formation (the "tablecloth") can descend quickly.
