Recommended day plan
7am ferry from Tangier, Tarifa 8am, Gibraltar 9am. Half day on the Rock. Lunch at Casemates. 3pm bus to Tarifa, 4pm ferry back to Tangier.
How to get there
Car
90 minutes, 75 km on the AP-7 / A-7 motorway. Park at La Linea and walk across the border.
Bus
Not direct. Take ferry from Tanger Ville to Tarifa (€40 each way, 1 hour), then bus or taxi to Gibraltar (45 min).
Parking
No parking issue, you are on a ferry.
Border crossing
You are crossing two borders both ways. Tangier-Tarifa: passport, Schengen entry stamp. Tarifa-Gibraltar: passport again. Allow 2 hours of buffer.
