8:00 AMTaxi to Jews Gate trailhead on the south end of the Rock. 90-minute steep climb on limestone slabs to the Upper Rock ridge. Hands required in places. Solid footwear essential.

9:45 AMWalk north along the ridge from the Steps summit. Apes Den is 20 minutes. Allow 30 minutes with the macaques before continuing.

10:30 AMContinue north to the Rock's highest point at 426m. The WWII gun emplacement is intact. Views extend to Morocco and the Costa del Sol. Allow 30 minutes.
