Beach weather is at its best. Eastern Beach and Catalan Bay are reliable.
Weather
Hot. 25-30°C, sometimes higher with a Levanter wind. Sea is 22-24°C, swimmable. Almost no rain.
Crowds
Peak. School holidays start, cruise season at maximum, Spanish staycation crowds.
What to wear
T-shirt, shorts, sun hat, sunscreen, water bottle. Sandals for the beach. Walking shoes if you are still doing the Rock.
What to do in July
- ▸ Beach mornings, indoor (museum, cave) afternoons to escape the heat.
- ▸ Late dolphin trips for the cooler air on the water.
- ▸ Sunset hikes up the south end of the Rock.
- ▸ Day trip to Ronda or Granada to escape the heat in the mountains.
- ▸ Tax-free Main Street shopping (cooler in the afternoon when shops are aircon'd).
