The Gibraltar Gin Experience

<p>Spirit of the Rock is Gibraltar's only gin distillery, tucked away on George's Lane in the old town. They run a one-hour Gin Experience that covers the history of gin and distilling, takes you through the botanicals used to make Campion Gin (their flagship, which has won international awards), and finishes with a tasting of six historic gins. At the end you get a complimentary double tot of your choice.</p> <p>Gin has a longer history in Gibraltar than most people realise. The Rock was a key staging post for the Royal Navy for over three centuries, and Navy-strength gin, distilled high to ensure it would still ignite gunpowder if spilled, was standard issue. Spirit of the Rock has leaned into that heritage, and the Gin Experience connects the drink to the territory's military and colonial history in a way that makes both more interesting.</p> <p>Tickets are £25 per person and must be booked in advance as sessions fill quickly, particularly in summer. Age restriction: 18 and over. The distillery is at 8 George's Lane, open Monday to Friday 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturday 10:00 to 16:00.
