About this tour

The PADI Open Water Diver certification is the entry-level diving qualification that opens up dive sites across the world. Dive Charters Gibraltar, Gibraltar's only PADI 5-Star Centre, runs the full course at their Marina Bay base, covering all four components: knowledge development (online or in-person), confined water skill practice in the pool, and four open water training dives in the Strait.

The Strait of Gibraltar is an unusually good environment in which to train. The water is clear, the marine life is varied and interesting, and the tidal flows that make the Strait so productive for cetaceans mean the dives here are not boring even during the basic training exercises. You are doing your qualification dives in a location that experienced divers travel specifically to visit.

The course costs £475, which is competitive for a full PADI Open Water qualification in a high-cost destination. Once qualified, Dive Charters offers single dive packages (£79), two-dive packages (£99), and Sunday boat dives (£120) to continue developing skills in local waters.

Advanced courses (£375), Rescue Diver (£485), Divemaster (£599), and multiple speciality courses are available for those who want to progress further. Contact the centre to schedule your course start: info.divecharters@gmail.com or 00350 200 45649.
