St Michael's Cave Tour
A guided 90-minute tour into Gibraltar's most spectacular natural cave, extraordinary stalactite formations 300 metres inside the Rock.
About this tour

St Michael's Cave is one of those places that stops you mid-sentence the first time you walk in. It is a series of limestone chambers deep inside the Upper Rock, formed over millions of years, with stalactites and stalagmites that look like something from a fantasy film. Neanderthals sheltered here. The British used it as a field hospital during WWII. It is now one of Gibraltar's most visited attractions.

This guided tour, bookable via Civitatis and operated by Naturanda, departs from a car park on Reclamation Road and takes 90 minutes including transport by bus to and from the cave entrance. The entrance fee and English-speaking guide are included in the £50-equivalent ticket price (€59 at time of writing).

The cave also functions as a concert venue. Events are regularly held inside the main chamber, which has extraordinary acoustics. If you are visiting Gibraltar around an event, it is worth checking the Gibraltar Cultural Services calendar to see if anything is scheduled.

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before. Minimum 2 participants. Not wheelchair accessible due to the nature of the cave terrain.
