About this tour

There is something that never gets old about watching wild dolphins breach alongside a boat in the Strait of Gibraltar. Dolphin Safari has been running these trips out of Marina Bay since the early days of Gibraltar tourism, and the crew know these waters like their own backyard.

The Strait hosts three resident dolphin species: common, striped, and bottlenose. The animals here are not seasonal visitors, they live in the Strait year-round, which means your chances of a sighting are high regardless of when you visit. The boat departs from 6 The Square at Marina Bay, heads out into the open water between Europe and Africa, and the crew locates the pods using local knowledge built up across decades on the water.

If you want something more exclusive, a private charter for up to 12 people is available for £280. It is the same boat, the same strait, just you and whoever you bring. Good for family groups, couples celebrating something, or anyone who does not fancy sharing the railing with strangers.

The RHIB option (rigid inflatable boat) is also available for those who want a faster, more open-air ride at £45 per adult. Standard tickets start at £25 for adults and £12 for children under 11. Gibraltar residents get a discount: £17 adult, £5 child.

Marina Bay is easy to reach on foot from Main Street or by taxi from the frontier. The office is at 6 The Square. Book online or turn up and check availability in person, the team is approachable and the dock is right there.
